Now he has added another feather to his cap by making a documentary on his successful Everest expedition entitled ?Reporter on Top of the World? and showing it in three cities of Europe.
Sherpa recently showed the 25-minutes-long documentary in Sherpa language, with its subtitle in English, in Hamburg of Germany, Zurich of Switzerland and Leuven of Belgium during his month-long Europe tour from September 5 to October 4.
Hamburg's German-Nepal Milan Kendra and Sherpa Society had organized the show in Hamburg while the Nepal-Swiss Society was behind the Zurich show. Leuven had two separate shows at the Catholic University and Belgium Sherpa Kiduk. The latter even felicitated him on the occasion.
Besides the documentary, Sherpa also presented a 30-minute-long slide show about Mount Everest during those screenings. He expressed his gratitude to all those groups for their support.
Sherpa said that his tour was a great success and was able to generate encouraging responses from local Europeans and expatriate Nepalis alike. According to him, the Europeans had already read and heard about his feat and they were naturally happy to meet him in person and watch his documentary.
The documentary is actually a compilation of several video footages shot during his Everest expedition with a short take on the Sherpa culture as well. He had planned to make the documentary last year itself but a lot of time was spent on obtaining good footages from various people. He also said he chose Europe because he had received lots of invitations from his friends and other Nepalis there, and also because of his strong desire to visit Europe.
The shows in Europe raised funds for his stay and he wishes to donate the remaining amount to the renovation of his old school in Solukhumbu of his native Sherpaland.
